PAINTING BOUNDARY WALLS (Water- and Damp Proofing Solution)

Determining your product requirement:
- Measure the surface area you wish to
- Determine which products are needed for the surface you wish to paint and the finish you wish to achieve.
- Check the Theoretical Spread Rates (TSR) on each of the specified products and see how many coats of each are recommended, then calculate what quantities of each product you will require, remembering to make adjustments for the porosity for each surface. TSRs are based on products applied to smooth, sealed (E.g. an unsealed scratch plaster surface will absorb more paint than a sealed smooth one, so allow for a lower spread rate on porous surfaces).

Surface Preparation
- Brush plaster to remove loose friable particles.
Application Method
- Apply 1 coat AcrySeal directly to plaster with a brush, roller or airless spray. Allow to dry.
- Apply 2-3 coats of AquaMatt to the top of the walls to achieve 5 mm dry film thickness. Allow to dry.
- Apply 1 coat AcrylUnder with a brush, roller or airless Allow to dry.

GOOD QUALITY PLASTER
(CAN BE DAMP PROOFED SUCCESSFULLY)
Surface Preparation
- Dry brush to remove loose surface particles.
- Ensure plaster is dry and of good quality. Check the plaster quality by rubbing it with your hand, if friable material continues to fall from the plaster, then it is of poor quality, if the plaster is firm when rubbing, and does not release any particles after being dry brushed, then it is of good
Application Method
- Apply 2 coats KlinkaSeal, (wet on wet), to all plastered areas, (side and top), of the boundary wall. Allow a minimum of 48 hours to dry at 25°C or
- Apply 1 coat of Paintcor’s PlasterPrime to entire Allow to dry.
- Apply 2 to 3 coats AquaMatt, (Fibre Reinforced Waterproof Coating), to achieve approximately 0.5mm dry film thickness to the top of the boundary Allow to dry between coats.
- Finally apply 2 coats Elegance Pure Acrylic to the boundary wall, (sides and top). Allow to dry between

PREVIOUSLY PAINTED PLASTER (CANNOT BE DAMP PROOFED)
Surface Preparation
- Remove all loose peeling
- Remove damaged plaster (if any).
- Prime exposed plaster with 1 coat of DampPrime, diluted with 10% Allow 24 hours to dry.
- Now apply a 2nd UNDILUTED coat of DampPrime to the surface. Allow 24 hours to
- Repair all cracks and blemishes with FlashPatch Exterior crack filler. Smooth off before
- Replaster with AcryLatex / plaster mix (see Plastering and Replastering tutorial)
- Waterproof top of boundary wall with AquaMatt. Apply numerous coats of AquaMatt to achieve 0.5mm dry film thickness. Measure area of tops of walls: Rule of thumb: if 5m2 then 5 litres of AquaMatt will be Apply till all AquaMatt is used up. Allow to dry for 1 hour between coats.
Application Method
- Finally, apply 2 coats of Pristina. This product will allow the wall to breathe to a certain extent.
