DESCRIPTION
SubTex has been specially formulated to correct texture differences on new one coat cement plaster. It has been designed to be cost-effective, alkaline resistant and can be applied with either sheepskin roller to correct texture difference, or with a ripple roller to give a smooth low-relief ripple. SubTex will cover plaster in one coat when used with a sponged ripple roller. After the application of Subtex, top coats of your choice can be applied.

AREAS OF USE
A primer coat for smooth, good quality plaster. SubTex is a textured primer coat that improves texture consistency, helping to hide texture differences on your project’s end result, specifically when using a sheen final coat.
SURFACE PREPARATION AND APPLICATION
NEW ONE-COAT WOOD FLOATED PLASTER
- Remove all loose or friable materials from the plaster by dry brushing.
- Seal the plaster with 1 coat of Paintcor’s AcrySeal acrylic sealer, diluted 1:1 with water. Allow sufficient time to dry.
- NOTE: Always seal new plaster with AcrySeal when applying SubTex with a ripple roller.
- Apply one coat of Subtex with a sheepskin roller to correct plaster texture
- Apply one coat of Subtex with a ripple roller (sponge roller) to cover scarring and texture differences.
- Finally apply top coats of your choice. Allow to dry between coats.
Note: Applying textured coatings with a sponge roller requires experienced applicators. Please call us for training if required.
