Determining your product requirement:

  • Measure the surface area you wish to
  • Determine which products are needed for the surface you wish to paint and the finish you wish to achieve.
  • Check the Theoretical Spread Rates (TSR) on each of the specified products and see how many coats of each are recommended, then calculate what quantities of each product you will require, remembering to make adjustments for the porosity for each surface. TSRs are based on products applied to smooth, sealed (E.g. an unsealed scratch plaster surface will absorb more paint than a sealed smooth one, so allow for a lower spread rate on porous surfaces).
  • Check out the specifications on all the top coat choices (referring to the relevant data sheets) and decide which is right for

NEW CEMENT PLASTER OR RHINOLITE

Surface Preparation

  1. Brush cement plaster to remove loose friable particles. If Rhinolite plaster has been used, check the quality by wiping it down with a damp cloth, if an initial layer of white power comes off but does not continue, then the quality is good. If the plaster continues to release a white powder after wiping down, then substitute Paintcor’s PlasterPrime for 2 coats of Paintcor’s RhinoSeal.

Application Method

  1. Apply 1 coat PlasterPrime Premium OR 1 coat PlasterPrime Trade. Allow to dry. Check RhinoSeal DA for poor quality
  2. Apply 2 top coats of Paintcor’s Elegance (in a Silk or Matt finish), or EnviroCoat in a gloss finish. Allow 60 minutes @ 25 degrees C to dry between coats.
  3. Allow the final coat to dry for 24 hours before subjecting it to large amounts of steam or
